SEMINAR OVERVIEW
ART Upper Extremity Level 2 provides evidence-based instruction of the necessary skills to detect and treat soft-tissue anomalies and dysfunctions of the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and the surrounding structures. ART Level 2 seminars instructor practitioners to identify and treat altered tissue texture, tension, function, and movement between two structures. This approach allows for proper relative motion that may result in improved outcomes. Throughout the seminar, attendees review the muscle and soft-tissue structures of the upper extremity, and how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 90 advanced manual protocols. Upper Extremity Level 2 techniques can be used to treat a broad list of dysfunctions, including frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and other soft-tissue dysfunctions.
CORE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Recite the four basic components of ART treatment protocols.
- Recognize common symptom patterns of upper extremity neuromuscular injuries and disorders.
- Summarize the cellular response to ART treatment on soft-tissue structures.
- Compare healthy and unhealthy tissue utilizing hands-on palpation techniques.
- Paraphrase Relative Motion and how it pertains to ART treatment.
DELIVERY FORMAT AND METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
ART Upper Extremity Level 2 seminars provide a hybrid learning model with online modules and in-person training. Attendees are expected to complete online preparatory materials consisting of a review of gross anatomy, explanations of the ART Diagnostic Algorithm, treatment methodology, protocol instructions, and a pre-credentialing exam. During the in-person portion of the seminar, attendees work alongside instructors and other attendees to practice palpation and treatment protocols. After completing the online modules and 24 hours of in-person training, attendees will demonstrate their skills through a practical exam to determine if they meet minimum certification requirements to employ ART treatment to patients.
PRE-REQUISITES
Must be ART Upper Extremity Level 1 certified.
