SEMINAR OVERVIEW
ART Full Body Level 1 provides evidence-based instruction of the necessary skills to detect and treat soft-tissue anomalies and dysfunctions of the upper extremity, lower extremity, and spine. The seminar is divided into three sections, Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, and Spine.
Throughout the Upper Extremity portion of the seminar, attendees review the muscle and soft-tissue structures of the upper extremities, and how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 59 Upper Extremity manual protocols. Upper Extremity Level 1 techniques can be used to treat a broad list of dysfunctions, including frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and other soft-tissue dysfunctions.
Throughout the Spine portion seminar, attendees review the muscle and soft tissue surrounding the spinal column, and how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 48 Spine manual protocols. Spine Level 1 techniques can be used to treat a broad list of dysfunctions, including chronic back pain, headaches, TMJ, vertigo, concussion symptoms, and other soft-tissue dysfunctions.
Throughout the Lower Extremity portion of the seminar, attendees review the muscle and soft-tissue structures of the lower extremities, and how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 62 Lower Extremity manual protocols. Lower Extremity Level 1 techniques can be used to treat a broad list of dysfunctions, including runner’s knee, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and other soft-tissue dysfunctions.
CORE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Recite the four basic components of ART treatment protocols.
- Summarize the cellular response to ART treatment on soft-tissue structures.
- Compare healthy and unhealthy tissue utilizing hands-on palpation techniques.
- Identify a muscle or soft tissue texture, tension, movement and function through palpation and patient assessment.
- Palpate 169 anatomical soft-tissue structures within the lower extremity, spine, and upper extremity using appropriate tension, depth, and motion to properly perform the treatment protocol.
DELIVERY FORMAT AND METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
ART Full Body Level 1 seminars provide a hybrid learning model with online modules and in-person training. Attendees are expected to complete online preparatory materials consisting of a review of gross anatomy, explanations of the ART Diagnostic Algorithm, treatment methodology, protocol instructions, and a pre-credentialing exam. During the in-person portion of the seminar, attendees work alongside instructors and other attendees to practice palpation and treatment protocols. After completing the online modules and 48 hours of in-person training, attendees will demonstrate their skills through a practical exam to determine if they meet minimum certification requirements to employ ART treatment to patients.
