Course Description

The primary goal of this course is to familiarize the doctor with the basics of lumbar MRI interpretation and to understand how to systematically interpret lumbar MRI.  Participants will learn the various types and orientations of MR images.  They will also learn how to identify the anatomic structures of the lumbar region and standardized identification terminology for the various types of lumbar disc lesions. Participants will be exposed to a gallery of the most common MRI findings that present to a musculoskeletal provider.  Doctors will understand how MRI can be integrated into clinical decision making and case management.  Even if a provider never looks at an MR image, they will gain value in understanding what the radiologist’s report says.  This course should change the way you practice.
