Speaker – Dr IK Ogbonmwan,  MRes, MBBS, MSc, MRCGP, DipSEM(UK&I), PGCert MSK US, PGCME, FFSEM(UK)

Dr IK Ogbonmwan is dual certified as a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) and a General Practitioner (GP) based in Manchester. He completed his higher specialist training in Manchester – working in NHS trusts including Manchester Foundation Trust and Wrightington Orthopaedic Hospital. Elite sports experience was gained at the UK Sports Institute, British Cycling, GB Taekwondo, GB Para-Swimming, Manchester City Football Club, and the Manchester Institute of Health & Performance.

His special interests include community MSK, ultrasound-guided interventions, physical activity promotion and medical education. He currently works as a consultant across the spectrum of SEM including community musculoskeletal clinics and elite sport as a Team Doctor for the England Football Association. He has a strong academic and research background and is a visiting senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University and is also on the editorial board for BMJ Open Sport & Exercise Medicine journal.
